Re: Cinnamon requirments

I have a amd 64 bit 1800 ghz processor with a nvidia 6100 graphics card and a gig of memory I know this is older but by the requirments should run but I just get black windows since Cinnamon started. I will try to install again but have little faith with those min requirm...

Re: How did you "learn" Linux?
I have to agree that tweaking till it breaks is the way to go. when I get a few days off and start mucking about my wife gets nervous :D She knows it's just a matter of time before I'm cussing and searching for a fix, but really the fix is the process and the cussing is just fun. I started with hopp...

Re: Linux Mint 11 "Katya" RC released!
The xfce version based on debian seems to be fine must be something from upstream in Ubuntu. maybe tomorrow I will figure out what package breaks the other.

Re: Linux Mint 11 "Katya" RC released!
That is a good idea. going to see how this works out then on my other partition I might just do that.nunol wrote:If you update package by package you can find out what package is breaking you system, that way all you have to do is not upgrade that one until a fixed package is released.

Re: Linux Mint 11 "Katya" RC released!
Nothing works but as of now I do not blame mint 11 because after posting mint LXDE not the debian version but lxde desktop version did the same just updated it today as well. Only problem is when it happened in lxde no longer could even boot into it. I'm in the xfce debian live disc now and installi...

Re: Linux Mint 11 "Katya" RC released!
The new release looks nice. Not so much working for me though :( the whole system freezes up within 30 seconds of the desktop booting up. Ran well right after install did update and then rebooted and now can't do anything. Will wait a few more weeks and try again and see if this will change with som...

Re: mintinput
any one know how I could maybe make a script to redo the settings on start up maybe. It's a real pain to have to redo it every time I reboot. I've tried running with sudo as well as without. Thanks.

Re: Create a share on the network
Try installing Gigolo from the Package Manager, many pcman users swear by it, and I recommend that the View->Side Panel be enabled. Quote by cavalier911 , post # 5 from the source link below : Gigolo/pcmanfm connect a.k.a. mount the share not the server. Open pcmanfm,menu:Go/Network Drives,Dbl clic...

Re: Mint 10 LXDE RC issues and bug.
Don't know if this is actually a bug, or just because I'm a noob, but when I run pcmanfm as root (by typing sudo pcmanfm in the terminal) an error message appears; it says "Permission denied". Also pcmanfm has a different icon-set when run as root. edit: When I try to run it with su - -c ...

Re: Mint 10 LXDE RC issues and bug.
1.Some qbittorrent doesn't show text. 2. lxinput mouse settings don't take. just what I have seen so far but I am new to lxde and may just be doing something wrong but don't believe that's it. So lxinput has had this issue for awhile. mintinput works flawlessly though :) Nice work! for qbittorrent I...
