Re: FS-UAE on Linux Mint 21
Check what version of FS-UAE repo you have https://fs-uae.net/download#ubuntu ..use the instructions to install the repo for jammy This does work - thank you MiZoG, but it still leaves the question: why does this (launcher version 3.1.68) fail? Oddly the version of FS-UAE from the old system's repo...

Re: FS-UAE on Linux Mint 21
Hello, On 20.3 FS-UAE was running fine. After Updating to Mint 21 the launcher comes up but when pressing the start button nothing happens. Any idea what causes that.... ? ^^ This ^^ I had FS UAE working *perfectly* on LM 20 and now the launcher fails to do anything. Here is the what seemed pertine...

Re: No Unicode Input
No. No thanks... I've tried all this s*** out already and all it has done has broken my compose key ... i'm flipped the f#$# out. I cant do my work without a compose key so now a small problem has turned into a big one.

Re: No Unicode Input
Sorry for the delay rene - been busy. The key sequence was pretty universally accepted - it worked in text editors, web browsers, and even OpenOffice.
Shame it just doesn't work like it used to

No Unicode Input
Used to be I could press Ctrl+Shift+u to enter unicode characters. Haven't been able to find a solution that applies to Mint 19.3.

Re: Who hates MATE?
I don't hate it, but it sure does irritate me sometimes. And it's disappointing to see the steps back, but it probably has a lot to do with the transition to GTK3. My biggest peeve with the last version I was using (on Mint "Rosa") is caja - a right turtle that thing can become (now I do a...

MATE Rearranges Window List Items
Well, as the topic suggests, the items (programs) on the "window list" keep rearranging themselves at random times and it's quite flipping me out. It almost seems like the panels themselves are crashing, but it's hard to say. I'm running Mint 19.3 with MATE 1.22.2, and have two panels runn...

Re: LMDE3 - Install Complete MATE Desktop
Thanks for posting this. Going to have to try it out... I'll of course report back how things went. Kinda sorry to see a default LMDE without a MATE version..... though if all else fails, I suppose I can live with Cinnamon.

Install issues - an error and no TTY# consoles
Greetings Minters! I just upgraded from Mint 13 to 17.3 recently, and I just want to start by saying how impressed I am with how things have matured and refined. Mint truly is my D.O.C. :D. Things have been mostly pretty smooth and clean - with a couple of exceptions of me breaking the system with d...

User Ardchoille
I just tried to email his personal email address and it got bounced back to me. It has been a couple years since we've chatted, but I was very taken aback by the failed sent message. Does anyone know him and/or know what happened to him?

Re: Weather Applet (Weather Report 1.8.1) Dead?
Thanks Robert, worked well here with Mint 18. I had removed the old one from the panel before doing as you described, and then added it back on after installing the deb, it and worked like a charm. Cheers You're welcome buddy! Glad to hear.... it's a small something that you get used to. When I fou...

Re: Weather Applet (Weather Report 1.8.1) Dead?
Here is how to fix this, no matter your version of Mint (I'm still running 13, for the moment) Enable sources downloading in APT. You can do this in the System / Administration / Software and Updates dialog, by checking the Source code item in the Ubuntu software tab. You can also enable them in the...
