Banshee crashes [SOLVED}

Postby owweeee on Sun Apr 29, 2012 3:08 am

I have just installed Mint KDE 12 and under Mint KDE 10 I used Banshee as my audio player.
However Banshee just crashes now, and it doesn't give any info on it.

If anybody has any ideas I would be greatful.

Thanks

Have you tried starting it from the terminal (command to run: banshee), does it give any error output there? Please share that here.

Thats a useful thing to try.
Here is the output

[Info 13:00:57.835] Running Banshee 2.2.0: [Linux Mint 12 Lisa (linux-gnu, x86_64) @ 2011-10-30 14:13:13 GMT]

(Banshee:21810): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme directory scalable/animations/small/16x16 of theme Mint-KDE has no size field

(Banshee:21810): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme directory scalable/animations/small/22x22 of theme Mint-KDE has no size field

The program 'Banshee' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
(Details: serial 548 error_code 10 request_code 158 minor_code 1)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Thanks for the help, from looking at the output in the terminal I found someone with the same problem with kubuntu 11.10 (wasn't there in 11.04 or earlier).
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1859279.

It turns out there is a bug in KDE
Thanks for your help Vincent Vermeulen
