Screen Off-center

Postby vinoman on Tue Mar 04, 2008 8:56 pm

I've been using Mint KDE for a couple days and it's very nice except my screen (Viewsonic VA1912wb) is off center, up and to the right. The live CD found my 1440x900 resolution and it's sharp and clear but I have to manually adjust the screen. Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks :)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You don't have an auto-correct button on your monitor? That will fix the issue, and I think will remember it for the next time as well.

That's what I thought, but it didn't. That's OK I like Mint w/gnome better and I'll give the KDE version to my friend who likes KDE better.

One day I'll get another monitor... :)

That *always* happens to me until I install the proprietary driver, in this case the nvidia driver, and the situation corrects itself. Have you tried that yet?

Have you tried changing the refresh rate? That will effect the position too

Here I was looking for some setting in Linux, when all I had to do was use the 'Auto Adjust' from the menu on the physical monitor! K.I.S.S principal at work in trouble-shooting!
