Kwifi not working on iwl4965

I have been using the Main Edition since 11/07 and haven't had many connection problems. I just booted the live dvd last night and could not get kwifi to detect any networks. It also shows no device detected. I have used the command in the terminal to load the module "sudo modprobe iwl4965" it returned no errors and still would not detect any networks. I really want to switch to this edition of Mint but I am a little aprehensive about installing it if I can't get it to connect wireless. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I had to set the default gateway for the wireless device to 127.0.0.1 this should be system default.

I have the exact same wifi card and it works flawlessly....I can't remember though what I set where, but you don't have to worry about that card.
