Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Is it the KDM theme you want to change or the splash between KDM and Desktop or the general theme?
Synaptic is not used in KDE

This is not my "department" - I'm not at all into changing themes....
I guess that file was not changed from the GUI - but why.....

If you want to change the KDM theme you need to edit kdmrc, the configuration file of KDM.

Iin a terminal type
Code: Select all
sudo kate /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc

Search for the word "theme" and you will find a line with "theme to use" or something similar (I'm not in front of my home computer). Replace "Darya", the name of LM's theme, with the one you want. If you are not sure about the name, look into the theme-folder (usr/share/kdm/themes, I think).

I don't know whether this is a bug or whether the name of the theme shouldn't have been put into kdmrc in the first place.
