Dvdrip/Devede Sound Issues Workaround

When ripping DVDs (legally of course) using dvdrip, a file is created, but sound seems to be missing.
some have also encountered sound issues when creating a DVD with Devede.
Both issues can be solved:
1. By installing kubuntu-restricted-extras / Ubuntu-restricted-extras
2. By upgrading FFmpeg with this ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~jon-severinsson/+archive/ffmpeg
This works in both Maya Gnome & KDE.
