Mint will not detect my wireless printer

Hi all. Loving Mint 13 KDE 32 bit.

I have a HP officejet 4500 that is automatically detected in most cases by buntus. For some reason Mint does not bring up the printer but the old laptop next to me with Xubuntu does. I even installed system-config-printer-gnome and it will not detect the printer either. I have hplip and cups installed.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Sorry! It was Firestarter. I should have figured that out sooner. I'm used to gufw.

Anyone know how to allow wireless printer access with Firestarter?
