Problem during LM KDE 13 64 bit installation

I have been always successful in installing previous versions of LM KDE on my laptop (hp touchsmart tm2 1090)

for version 13 I have the following problem:

During the installation, the all process hangs when I have to create a user

I insert all of the info correctly, however both the "log in automatically" or alternate option at the bottom of the dialog box stay dimmed

then in the end I get an error message.

The software installs, but basically I cannot create a user

This does not happen If i use the corresponding ubuntu / kubuntu version or the LM 13 cinnamon edition

the approach that I normally use is to have /home in a separate partition

Has anybody bumped into that?
