I just wanted to confirm that I understand this correctly:
(1) It is preferable to use kdesu over sudo when the command will launch a program in the KDE GUI (e.g., Kate), because of possible undesirable side-effects from sudo.1 2
(2) But because kdesu runs programs as root, one should close the kdesu-launched program as soon as one is done doing what is necessary as root.3
