Help on network problem in Mint 13/14 KDE

Hi all,

I hope this is the right place to ask.
In Mint 13 and 14 I can't connect to wired internet because when i set up the DSL network connection, there is the field called Service.
If i let the field blank, I get an error message, and if I put the name inside it does not connect to the internet.I have the same in kubuntu and other distros.
Is there a solution for this?In this way I am restricted to the other DE of Mint , but i would stronglly use KDE.
