Daryna KDE CE Fails to Install

I think I may just have a bad burn or bad download, but here's the deal:

I boot the live DVD of Linux Mint 4.0 KDE CE and everything comes up fine except for eth0 (which has come up fine on every other distro I've used, including Linux Mint 4.0 Gnome). When I double click on "Install" it spins for a few seconds, then goes away and nothing happens. When I try to launch install from the command line, again nothing happens and no error messages.

Oh, and I tried using Mint 5.0 but I get the same random system lockups I get with Ubuntu Hardy Heron, so no go there.

I suppose some system specs would be helpful:
Acer Ferrari 4005 WLMi Notebook
Turion 64 ML-37
2 GB Memory
Radeon Mobility X700 128MB

For starters
Have you checked the md5sum and burned as slow as possible?
There can be errors on the disk (rather - there can be errors that can't be corrected) even if you manage to boot
