Postby c.tirumalesh on Tue Oct 14, 2008 12:15 am

hello every one,
i have been using fedora since fedora 7, but now i want to transfer to some other linux distribution, i installed mandriva 2009 rc2 when it was released and updated to final release but i didn't felt that it was stable it crashing all the time, now i thought about Mint , i am currently downloading a copy, how stable is this Mint 5 compare to other distibutions especially KDE version, i liked the concept of folder view in KDE 4. but kde4 doesn't seem to be settled at how much time i need to wait. tell me exactly where is the problem is the problem is with mandriva or kde 4 or my hardware

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hello. The Mint 5 KDE CE version you are downloading currently uses KDE 3.5.9 and is very stable. The next release of Mint KDE CE will reportedly use KDE 4.x. From what I have read 4.1.2 is quite stable - and only missing a few features from 3.5 so it should be in good shape by the time the Mint version comes out.

As far as stability, Mint KDE CE has been great for me.

That's good to hear. Let all of us know how your experiences have gone once you've played around with it for a bit.
