Mint to wired connection to XP to wireless internet

Postby Twinnie on Wed Aug 05, 2009 11:37 am

I was wondering if someone could help me here. I have a wireless card that only has proprietary drivers so I need to access the internet to get the internet working. Getting a wired connection to the router would be a total pain in the arse so I'm trying to use an old XP laptop to bridge the connection. I have them wired together over ethernet now but Mint still can't find the internet and I can't find a setting in XP to share the wireless connection. I've found it for a wired connection but the option is gone when I go to the same place on a wireless connection.

Thanks in advance.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

An altenative would be researching what type of wireless card you have and then downloading the packages you need, putting them on a flash drive, transfer them over and then install them via the terminal on the linux box.
