A minor irritation re list view...

Postby cavgirl on Wed Mar 03, 2010 9:28 pm

How do I turn off the alternate colours you see in some lists - eg, the 'detailed' view in Dolphin. The same effect we have here on the forum index, in fact. I don't like it in my file manager as it makes it harder rather than easier for me to read, and sometimes it seems to be controlled by colour and sometimes by style. So what am I looking for to get rid of it?

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Can you provide a screenshot?

Go into the file view and click on List view (my default is Icon view) and you will see that row backgrounds are alternately light grey - mid grey. I think that is what the OP is talking about.

I've had a search but cannot find a way to turn the background colours off, and suggest the OP chooses Compact view instead.

Apologies - I finally sorted it. All I had to do was go to Settings/Appearance/Colours/View and make sure that the 'Normal Background' and 'Alternate Background' settings were the same. Problem solved! :D
