[SOLVED]Last KDE Beta - No accented vowels

Postby rquin66 on Mon Dec 03, 2007 6:36 am

Hi, I installed Daryna KDE Community Edition BETA 011. I selected Catalan as my language and Spanish keyboard layout.

However, I can't get accented vowels (we use in Catalan these:à, é,è, í, ó, ò, ú, ï, ü) in any editor (kate or kwrite) nor in kterm.

Please correct this bug (or post a solution, I've been comparing directories under /etc in kubuntu -that I have in another partition- just to check the differences, but I couldn't find any). Doing a dpkg-reconfigure locales also didn't help.

Don't know if this happens too with Spanish or French, but it seems likely.

Keep up the good workwith this beautiful distro!!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Well, I don't know how, but after three tries, I've succesfully installed the last KDE beta, and I can type accented charachters everywhere (konsole and kate). So, I have no clues whether this is really a bug in LinuxMint or something related to my hardware.
I'll wait until the final kde release (I'll install it two or three times) to check if this still happens.
Regards to all the Linuxmint users!
