software manager in mint 12 kde solution

uninstall mintinstall from the synaptic package manager and search muon....install muon installer and it will ad 2 additional packages.after that you have it installed open it up and enjoy it.software manager is probably not going to be supported in newer mint versions,or so,ive read a post from clem.due to aptdaemon issues.muon works fine

Thank you for the work around. It works very nicely for me. I still use sudo apt-get install in terminal, but it is nice to have muon as well.

I prefer to use synaptic myself, I'm not really sure what advantages the software manager has for me yet...

as far as the comparison between synaptics and software managers,in my opinion,there really aint any difference besides synaptic you cand find and install,software managers you can read the review and ratings.thats about it.i like software managers cause i can read reviews before installing a program.

Thanks My understanding of that is that the backend used by Software Manager will get replaced or rewritten, but the Software Manager will remain in LM13.
