Can't Install Software?

Postby BruceCM on Tue Feb 14, 2012 1:46 pm

In software manager, I can search for & find, say, Chromium but when I click on it, nothing happens! Recently, in system settings, it claimed 'my administrator has disallowed changing your image', when I'm the only person who's ever used this laptop! Any ideas, please?

Look down on this forum and you'll have the answer... Long Story Short: remove software manager and install muon software center from synaptic... The issue is that after installing muon I can't run Synaptic anymore :/
Linux Mint FTW!!

try with synaptic package manager, search for chromium-browser. if synaptic not work, use terminal:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install chromium-browser

Software manager still crash at last time I used LM12 KDE (a week ago). I read you must install moun to fix software manager in KDE. see viewtopic.php?f=109&t=93496

Sure, sorted package manager out. What about the 'my administrator' bit, please? I'd like to sort that out, too, thanks!
