LMDE Xfce vs LM13

I'm thinking of switching to LMDE Xfce from LM13 Cinnamon. I've been using it as a live-CD for a few days now to get an idea of the major differences and so far it seems pretty close to what I'm use to. What are the major differences from a factual standpoint? I don't want to start a debate of opinions here about which is better, but I would like to know ahead of time what issues others have ran into when they switched. I just want to avoid installing it just to end up uninstalling if there is anything specific that people switching from LM13 tend to dislike about LMDE Xfce.

What packages/programs did you really like to use in LM13 that aren't available/compatible with LMDE? What did you find as a suitable replacement? Any tweaks you liked to apply in LM13 that aren't possible in LMDE?

So far the main difference I see that would affect me is that you can not choose to install your /home directory to a separate physical drive from the / partition. My current setup is to have my / on a small SSD and my /home on a larger HHD so this would definitely be a disadvantage to switching. I know you can edit fstab post install but I don't see a way to get this setup during the install.

The LMDE installer is less flexible and that is probably a problem for you but LMDE XFCE is faster and uses less RAM. Updates may give some problems on LMDE.

XFCE is semi-rolling and Cinnamon is a point-release and has support for 5 years.
