Will Compiz work?

I have not been successful at starting Compiz. I notice several updates came down for it.

Haven't used compiz in awhile...
You can get 'fusion icon' to install (does work on 'XFCE')
But to do anything you'll need 'compiz-config-manager' (does not fetch right from Ubuntu sources anymore) some plugins not supported anymore because 'UNITY'
'compiz' is included in the 'Mint13-XFCE RC' but the config-manager is not. (I think theirs a ppa you can use to get correct one
) or ( is Included in Main Mint mate/cinammon then install the 'XFCE DE' (activate ppa for 4.10 if want!)
P.S. to use you can put 'fusion-icon' in startup
or
If use all the time change in 'session' and deactivate xfwm4 and xfdesktop.
