Problems connecting to USB pendrives

When connecting to my USB pendrives Mint XFCE has serious problems. My CPU will start working at 90% and even after minutes no change. Connecting will apparently fail. I never had this problem with any other Mint edition. The pendrives are formatted with FAT32.
