What news of XFCE final release

Postby oliverjames on Mon Apr 21, 2008 2:18 am

As an enthusiast of th XFCE desktop I'm wondering whether all development work has stopped. Am I stuck with Gnome forever?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

The XFCE is a CE (community edition) and not much happens.
Merlwiz who started work on it has had severe problems with illness and partial computer failure, but from what I understand he is now working on it (or as soon as he gets a new large hard disk)
But no promises made and he can answer better himself

I think that kinda highlights the problem, that really our community distros are one man efforts. It would be good if we could encourage small teams of people to work collectively on these things rather than leaving it all up to one individual. I'm sure Merlwiz wouldnt object to the suggestion of advertising on the forum for more contributors to the XFCE cause. Ask him and see what he says?
