Hey so I love XFCE and the last version I ran before 14 was 10 on an older computer and even that thing had additional drivers, the nvidia settings and al that, now it seems overly simple. I tried to install nvidia-settings but I don't see it in the software menu anywhere and really I'm not sure if that's what I needed to do at all?
Any help would be appreciated.

You can run 'jockey-gtk' from a terminal window. That's the additional drivers utility. Don't forget to run it as root.

If that doesn't work, go to "Software Sources", you should have an "Additional Drivers" tab there.
