I'm using Mint XFCE 32-bit, "Olivia." My system is a laptop, Acer Aspire 5250.
When I try to transfer files across the aforementioned devices, connected via USB 2.0, the speeds are low (1-4 MB/sec); a transfer of only a couple hundred MBs takes several, several minutes, far longer than I have experienced if transferring the same files across Windows. And these transfers, they also have a tendency to hang and cancel out, in some instances.
I researched my issue, and found a similar incident here. Therein, a link is mentioned to a bug tracking site, but the page is otherwise lost.
This thread also seems to match my predicament, but I am unsure how to employ the solution(s) that is mentioned. I have little if any coding knowledge, be it command line or whatever, so my hesitation is that if I execute a command, I won't know how to undo that execution. (On that note, is there a command that acts like an immediate undo command, insofar as scripting is concerned?)
I'd love a little assistance. Thanks for your time, otherwise.
