How to make "Super key + E" open file manager?

Postby pion33r on Thu Sep 12, 2013 7:18 am

I'm using LM15 xfce 64bit, this is the 3rd day and everything is running smooth. However I always find my self using Super/windows Key + E to open file manager/my computer? Anyway I could put a shortcut on filemanager? If possible show desktop too (super/windows key + D)

Go to your main menu and open up "settings manager/keyboard" then switch to the "Application Shortcuts" tab

Click on "Add". In the box that opens up under "command", type in "thunar" (without the quotes) and hit "ok". In the next box that pops up just enter the key combo by holding down the "super key" and press "e".

That will set the file manager to open when you press the combo "super+e"

To change the show desktop you have to go to "settings manager/window manager" and go to the "keyboard" tab.
Scroll down until you see the "show desktop" action and double click it. When it pops up just hold down the "super key" and press "d".

I hope that's what you were looking for.
