I'm using Mint 13 mate/xfce 32-bit.
I have a CRUZER USB memory stick (aka thumb drive). In Xfce, after I do a umount, the drive blinks for a minute (probably finishing its writes), then glows in a consistent off and on in a slow "heart beat."
Is it ok to remove it at that point? i don't see any further Xfce command that stops it glowing.
The eject command, accessible by right-clicking the usb icon on the desktop, doesn't seem to do anything at all.
(In contrast, when using the Mate interface, I do two 'safely remove drive' from the menu commands and the stick stops dead.. no light at all).
