Size of Xfce inflated to HDD (SSD)

Postby ThoriumBlvd on Fri Oct 11, 2013 1:22 pm

I have been reading the manual a bit. The first thing I noticed that caught my eye was that the iso generally inflates to ~3Gb... yet the sys req indicates 5-6Gb. Is this due to additional repositories that MUST be d/l? I would presume patch/updates require some space.

Eventually, I would have to Burn--->USB (stick) for a better compatibility, then install to the SSD.

***EDITED: What is the actual size of the default install in X.Y Gb? ***
There are FOUR things in life that are certain death, taxes, the resistance to them, and stupidity. At least one person has cheated upon the first two, and most everything alive obeys the third. But there is no escape from the fourth.

Hi, I'm running an IBM Thinkpad x40 with a PATA/IDE SSD.

I just just just installed Mint 13 to it and added a 3 icon packs and 5 window themes from Gnome-look.org

I have installed all the "updates" from update manager and my size on disk is: 4.85Gb

Hope this helps you. :D
