Linux Mint 16 XFCE RC bug

Postby MtDewfella on Tue Dec 10, 2013 5:43 pm

Mint 16 XFCE fixes a bug I've been having where my laptop would freeze up if I adjusted the brightness with my fn keys, while it no longer freezes, it still has a bug. It seems to cause Google Chrome to grind to a halt, no other apps are effected just chrome, any ideas as to why?

ACER Aspire 5810T-8929
Intel GMA 4500MHD
4 GB DDR3 Ram
Inter Core 2 Solo SU3500

Edit: After the bug screws up chrome the only thing that fixes it seems to be restarting the system, killing chrome and then restarting it doesn't fix it nor does login out then back in.
Edit: After a while chrome speeds back up, but after that chrome occasionally pauses for a few seconds about once a minute until I restart.
Edit: After furthur troubleshooting I have found the pauses are system wide not just chrome

I'd like to report that after installing VirtualBox on 64bit RC that there are NO menu items for VB to be found anywhere.

TIA
The instructions suggested Windows XP or better, so I installed Linux :)
