After installing the jaunty backports, madwifi, and network manager like several posts said to do, I finally got wifi to work by following directions from this post: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=31795&p=183323&hilit=ath9k#p183323
I ran these in the terminal:
- Code: Select all
sudo modprobe ath9k
sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
sudo mousepad /etc/modprobe
Then at the bottom of the list I added "ath9k" without the quotes and saved the file.
If you want, I can run lspci -vvnn and post the results. Or rather I can undo what I did to get it to work and run lspci -vvnn then post the results if it will help.
EDIT: Even though the wifi is working, it doesn't seem to have the greatest range. But at least its working.
