rolling distro: kernel question

Postby dado023 on Thu Aug 25, 2011 2:24 pm

with every new Linux mint(7,8,9,10,11...) comes a new kernel, right.
It says LMDE is rolling Linux, which means once you install it you don't have to do it ever again, because it will continue to update it self
What happens with LMDE kernel? Does it updates it self like regular update?

Would anyone me so kind and explain kernel question to me.

Thanks in advance

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

first, you posted in the wrong sub-forum (lxde), but no worries, we'll fix that right away :D

now, your question: when LMDE was released came with the .32 kernel, months later we got an upgrade to the .38, and then to the .39 and now LMDE is running the 3.0 (if you are tracking testing, if you decided to track the new update-packs, the new 3.0 is not available yet, will be in the next update)

i hope this didn't make things more confusing
