Brand new to linux. Tried Sabayon xfce which was quite slick, but I had to move on after 2 crashes. So now I have installed Linux Mint Debian edition xfce and it is running like a dream. I would like to change xscreensaver to display a photo slide show when on. Looking online, instructions indicate go to GLSlideshow, then select "Settings". Then in the command line change the default "glslideshow -root" to the folder that holds my pictures. I have tried to do this but apparently don't know the proper notation. My pictures are in a folder named pictures, which are in a folder named freedom, which are in a folder named home. But I guess I don't know the proper notation and how to reflect that in the command line. Or if you know another screen saver that displays photos, that would be another helpful suggestion. Thanks for any suggestions.
