Mic not working on NB205

Hi,
I've got a Toshiba NB205 with XP and Isadora Fluxbox dual booting. I did sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade and got the speakers working, but the microphone isn't working in Audacity. Haven't tried Skype. The ALSA mixer shows all volumes up and unmuted.

Here's some info:
$ arecord -l

It's says no sound server. Is that a problem?

Try at the "basic" level first and see what happens. Try arecord + aplay. If works, problem is with Audacity. If fails, problem is hardware (and I can't help).
