Problems with Firefox in Fluxbox RC

Postby mikegahan on Thu Feb 04, 2010 1:29 pm

Dear Friends
I gave the Fluxbox RC a trial and I was very impressed. However when I open Firefox I get the following alert message:

"Could not initialise the application's security component. The most probable cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard drive is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the browser and fix the problem. If you continue to use this browser session, you might see incorrect browser behaviour when accessing security" I then find when I use it that I get warning messages about the security status of various legitimate websites and I cannot default past them. I have tried to reinstall the browser but the problem reoccurs.

Keep up the good working. I am using the Fluxbox on an old Sony Vaio Pentium 3 with 256 mb ram and it is very fast and much better than the previous Fluxbox release. Regards :)

did you install Mint Fluxbox CE over an existing distro and use the same /home partition, maybe your permissions are wrong now. Can you create files and folders in your personal folder?

have you tried creating a new profile for Firefox? hit Alt+F2 and type "firefox -ProfileManager" from there create a new profile.
