Downloading attempts failed

Okay, first I tried to just get LM8 FB via http from a random mirror and it failed about 80% of the way through...
Then I decided to torrent...I have restarted and everything I can think of, even turning off my firewall, and I can't get further than like 83.5% ish.

What could be causing this error?

You might want to try downloading from another mirror. As for the torrent...well, maybe there aren't enough seeders?

well I restarted my comp and tried a different mirror...then they both seemed to work...so when I finally got everything install on my old computer, it seemed that it didn't want to detect my Nvidia card...This puzzles me as all of the other Mint distro's did...I sad.

Have you went into mintMenu > Control Centre > Hardware Drivers? And it doesn't detect your Nvidia card?
