stray process running? Or what?

Postby shengchieh on Thu Jul 22, 2010 10:40 pm

Lately, I noted I (sometime can and) sometime can't play sound whether it is sound on firefox, decibel audio plyer, etc. I also note that the computer
is slower. I suspect there is stray process running or something is "locked up" (being used so nothing else can use it).

Here's a "ps -ef" output.

Code: Select all

There is a couple of process with "volume" in it. I'm not running sound right now.
Is one of those processes shouldn't be running?

My "lsmod" output is

Is a module running that shouldn't?

Can you do "ps-ef" and "lsmod" on your computer and compare with mine?

Thank for your help.
