Fluxbox live cd will not boot on toshiba laptop

I cannot boot to the live cd. i have an old toshiba satellite with 2gb celeron system with an very old intel video chip. it tries to boot and gets to the point that where the graphics screen should start but the screen is black and never changes. I tried compatibility mode and it did the same thing. The LXDE version works. What can I try?

I just see this message and it remember me the same kind of problem I encountered.
I have an old Tosh Laptop too (Satellite S3000)

If I remember, I was able to boot on Mint-FluxBox using nomodeset option added on the boot command line.

I will check and confirm this evening.

I have a newer Toshiba Satellite. I couldn't get it to start normally or in compatibility mode, but adding "acpi=off" to the boot commands did the trick for me.
