It has not been announced officially, it is still about to change because it is still under testing.
simplicissimus wrote:Why do you think that this version is the final and stable version?
I do not see any official informations or confirmations ...
clem wrote:OK. I know for sure the release won't happen until Sunday, at the earliest (because we're still in the process of validating the Light Edition and finalizing the Software Portal and getting a few other things ready) but I got confirmation from Exploder: The ISO you're looking at is the one that will be released. It's stable.
Again, enjoy it... but don't spread the news too much. I like to think of a release as an event which brings not only the ISO to people, but the full release notes, upgrade instructions, user guide, known issues, light ISO, software portal and associated services. Things have to be fully ready so people get the right first impression. So enjoy the ISO silently, and let me surprise everybody when the time is right.
Not that I'm hiding anything but there's no need to make more noise about this than this topic already does
Have a good week-end everyone and see you on Release Day
Clem.

You should all have waited for the official release, the system you are using is still considered a beta so, use it at your own risks.

Welcome back

Could not grab your mouse. A malicious client may be eavesdropping on your session or you may have just clicked a menu or some application just decided to get focus.
Try again.

Such a shame, such a waste...

If so, is there any interest with this community to do a 64-bit version? I have been using Hardy 8.04 64-bit since it was released and I do notice a nice performance gain (I'm triple booting between Hardy 32, Hardy 64, Ultimate Edition 1.8 64-bit [don't shoot me, please]).
Whats up Daddy? Yes, there are plans for a 64bit edition. You know, you could have asked me that at the other house

Indeed it is (although to be honest I haven't had any issues yet).
Regarding extensions in Firefox 3, it is possible. You just have to mess about in about:config. Don't worry, though - it's safe and reversible. Here's what you do:
1. Type about:config into Firefox's address bar and click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button.
2. Right-click anywhere. Choose New>Boolean. Make the name of your new config value extensions.checkCompatibility and set it to false.
3. Make another new boolean pair called extensions.checkUpdateSecurity and set the value to false.
4. Restart Firefox.
And that's it.

I cannot get my Bluetooth Mouse (Microsoft) to work, it is found and recognized as a mouse but immediately I get : file:///home/pif/Desktop/BluetoothMouseError.png (It says: Couldn't display "obex://[00:12:5A:6C:9B:43]/". Error: Host down; Please select another viewer and try again.
(this also happens with 032 and 8.04)
If I select the "Login screen Preferences" it takes almost forever to initialize the first time (later attempts are much quicker).
Otherwise sofar very good as far as I have gotten in giving it a workout on my Zepto Znote 6625WD (Santa Rosa, Core2 Duo 2.1GHz, GeForce8600M GT) (Dual boots just fine with Vista SP1 (about to leave the machine for the final version of Elyssa))
Keep up the good work
