You have to read the article first "As far as I'm concerned the latest version, Linux Mint 15, Olivia, is now not merely the best Linux desktop, it's the best desktop operating system of all" :D

I've been running the RC for five days now after an experiment with Ubuntu 13.04 Gnome ( 3.8 ). And a little toying with Arch, Openbox and Gnome.

It took me a week to be sure I couldn't stomach Gnome 3.8 (I missed Cinnamon and its nice clean panel). So back to Cinnamon. Its excellent thanks - Home at last.

Just if you don't have any available updates showing on your update manager, then you're already there.

ok thanks tdockery97

that makes sense.

I didint mind if I had to reinstall as there is only a couple bits of software that would have to be installed.
Just the nature of testing I guess

So Mint 15 is "final" now?

Preemptively leeched the "stable" ISOs and mirrored them via eD2k/Kad. Hope they won't change again. :)

Since it's been 2 days, I'm guessing they'll be good to go.

You know the difference between eMule and eD2k/Kad?
A software and two protocols?

My server is able to upload the ISOs with full server speed. And it pretty much does in this very moment. If you prefer inferior P2P systems, feel free to use them instead.

Oops. Package mate-system-tools is not installed for some reason. Install it to get that applet.
And for LM15, it's the "gnome-system-tools" package that needs to be installed. :D
OK, the same in Cinnamon, this works.
While there was no Users and Groups applet, I had 2 User Accounts applets in final Olivia.

According to the download page:
15 Olivia Ubuntu Raring Supported until January 2014.
Is Olivia really only supported until January 2014?

That is how the Ubuntu release cycle is now working, so Mint will also have only 9 months of support for 15 & 16; from 17 on, we'll probably think of revising the release schedule of Mint.

There is of course LMDE
Though perhaps a revision could see Debian being Mint's only interest?
