I am also having this issue with mintupdate not showing in the panel. I had to start it from the menu (the icon was removed from the menu for mintupdate). And now it shows in the taskbar, but is not showing the full icon (KDE issue?).

Thanks for confirming this!

Firstly congratulations on what looks like a superb OS, I've just returned from a spell using Jaunty and I'm extremely impressed. I've been using Gloria for three days solid and the only bug I've encountered is the disappearance of the update icon. I only noticed this after updating the RC, I can start update manually though.

One thing I have noticed about mintupdate now not showing up in the taskbar. It used to have an option via right click to choose to "Show the icon all the time, when in use, or don't show" (something like this) in a separate window. This is no where to be found now. :?

I'm also having problems with mintUpdate!
The startup one
/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/mintUpdate.py

doesn't show an icon, but mintUpdate on its own or from the menu does.

Perhaps it has something to do with the icons directory?
When I try to change the icons from preferences it automatically goes to /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/tmp folder, but they're actually in the /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/icons folder?

Also, another bug I see is "User will login in ** seconds" still shows in the login screen even after I unchecked Enable Timed Login.
I tried it with different values and it still shows up when unchecked, doesn't count down, just stays there.

All good here, apart from a few little things! I love the new themes and all the improvements you've made!

Like others, I'm missing the updater icon, and noticed that dark rectangle on the startup/shutdown splashes, but minor problems, and I'm sure they'll be fixed in final.

One thing that is annoying me though (probably an ubuntu issue, I haven't checked) is with dual head displays. After installing the 3rd party nvidia drivers (required for dual head) and setting it as two separate x-screens, everything looks fine. However, move the mouse across to the other screen, a 'ghost' of the cursor remains on the first screen, while the main cursor appears on the second screen. I don't know how xorg deals with swapping the cursor between screens, I imagine its just an issue with not clearing the cursor when required. The other problem, which may be related is opening up programs on the second monitor. Anything from the menu opens up on the first monitor, no matter what I do. Any ideas?

The mintUpdate disappearing icon is caused by the update to 3.7.1
I installed all updates except that one - no disappearing icon
When I installed 3.7.1 and rebooted it had disappeared

Mintupload's scp protocol ignores the port setting. Manually setting the port in the ~/.ssh/config is the only way I know of working around this problem.

RALINK 2860 Wireless drivers seem to have been removed from mint 7 RC1, Strange being that it works fine in Jaunty! These wireless devices are found in most of the newer Asus EEE PC/Box/Netbooks. Which are damn popular now so this is probably something worth adding in the final release!

Another BUG, but this is also reported in Various distro's including ubuntu and also Arch. I dont know if you can fix this but i would be extremely grateful as its the only reason MINT is not my primary OS. It has to do with a pipe under run error which causes random black screens and only a reboot will fix! This is using xserver-xorg-video-intel on intergrated intel graphics chips like the 945 (others too) which i have on the EEE box. I suspect that it has to do with the newer linux kernal in conjunction with last few driver releases from intel! link to bug here https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/311895

The disappearing mintUpdate icon is fixed with version 3.7.2 - I think it's available now

Why Linux Mint don't have "Create a USB startup disk" feature? :(

on http://www.pendrivelinux.com/linux-mint-6-flash-drive-install-via-cd/ you have a short tutorial on how to do it for Felicia and basically,
you have to "sudo apt-get install usb-creator" to do this.
In other words, what you'd like is for Gloria to come with this tiny application which is a good idea! :D
I hope they'll add it

mintUpdate 3.7.2 is in the repos. The icon is back and it also looks like Clem refined the GUI to blend with the new theme.

I think Clem may have withdrawn 3.7.1 as it was flawed - it's replaced with 3.7.2
You may have to refresh

Translations were added, that's why the version has progressed today.

Edit: The panel icon bug was also fixed.
