confused!?!?! why is the root password bein messed with. The whole point of it being disable is so no one coud do a brute force attack on your comp.

To make a long story short - there is some incompatibility with the way Ubuntu and Mint boots and uses passwords so without a password root would be wide open

I was having big trouble with a friends old laptop which kept rebooting at the windows screen, after updating the bios and trying a few other things and not getting anywhere, I downloaded Gloria Xfce and low and behold, it worked first time no hassle or trouble whatsoever! (as i expected it to of course ;) )
Congrats on another mighty release! Great work team! Kudos!

My brother's pc and mine are running Linux Mint Xfce previous release and I wait for upgrade instructions
