Thanks! That's what I figured when I finally looked at the xorg.conf file.

And, I've got an Acer celeron model. $349 on-sale at the Big Box and it's all my wife needs. Vista slows it to a crawl, but it races with the mint.

Anyone know anything about a CPU throttling applet for XFCE? I can do it the CLI way, but I'd prefer not to...
