Well I'm also having issues with package servers (Mint 9 Isadora, LXDE edition).
I have had some success experimenting with various mirrors (Preferences / Software Sources / LinuxMint Software tab) and fetching some updates, BUT . . .
My understanding is that, regardless of what mirrors we choose, Update Manager will always try to ALSO
, which is fixed at "Preferences / Software Sources / Other Software".
I'm getting the following on various occasions during the last 24 hours, and regardless of chosen mirrors:
- Code: Select all
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.linuxmint.com/dists/isadora-lxde/Release.gpg Could not connect to packages.linuxmint.com:80 (184.108.40.206). - connect (111: Connection refused)
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.linuxmint.com/dists/isadora-lxde/main/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2 Unable to connect to packages.linuxmint.com:http:
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.linuxmint.com/dists/isadora-lxde/upstream/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2 Unable to connect to packages.linuxmint.com:http:
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.linuxmint.com/dists/isadora-lxde/import/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2 Unable to connect to packages.linuxmint.com:http:
W: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
There's an option to just DISABLE
that repo, but I don't think it's a reasonable thing to do.
If by chance I'm doing anything wrong, would someone please educate me accordingly.
sdrubbleEdit: just pointed the browser to http://packages.linuxmint.com, which appears as unavailable.
