Thanks for the reply merlwiz79. I checked the logs for the date in which I noted the problem. Here's the information...

* Launching mintUpdate in user mode
starting refresh
auto-refresh timer is going to sleep for 5 minutes
system is up to date
refresh finished
mintUpdate is in tray mode, performing auto-refresh

The above goes on for several pages (my computer was up for a long time that day!)

I can't see any error. I do believe Mintupdate is working as it should, I just don't think it's configured to detect all possible updates. What would you suggest? I can post a copy of my sources.list file and the output generated by an apt-get update if you think that might help. Thanks.

Translation

Postby krit85 on Sat Nov 03, 2007 9:09 am

How can I help to translate mintUpdate? I'm registered at Launchpad the following message is displayed:

The mintUpdate project is not set up for translation in Launchpad.

I have no idea why it's not setup.
You can translate by copying /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/locale/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/message.po to your home folder and edit the translated words to your language.
Once you are done run this command in the folder with message.po:
Code: Select all
sudo msgfmt messages.po
Then you need to make a folder in /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/locale/ that is for your language.
Then create the LC_MESSAGES folder and copy both files message.po and message.mo to it.
Example: /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/
Would be for the German translation and have both files in LC_MESSAGES.

Thank you. It worked. Can I upload my translation (and if yes how?) anywhere? Or are there already translations (witch are not installed at present) online? If yes, can I check or correct them?

Fix the Medibuntu repository address. It changed.

Old address = deb http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/ feisty free non-free
New address = deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ feisty free non-free

Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Look for:
Code: Select all
## Medibuntu (Codecs and extra applications)
deb http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/ feisty free non-free

and change it to the new address.

Aloha, Tim

PS: This has been covered previously in this thread (and elsewhere).
