Xmonad

I set up Xmonad on Maya and am trying to start gnome-settings-daemon on start-up. I have tried the ~/.xinitrc but am not getting any results. Somebody help me please.
when life gives you a run, give it a break. retreat is a tactic not defeat!

I solved it by using this:
in the xmonad.hs file.

myStartupHook = spawn "gnome-settings-daemon"
in the xmonad.hs file.
