Hello,
I am quite new to Linux and currently have the Xfce Mint version 13 installed.
I've managed to find a number of unofficial LXDE distros available and was wondering if any of them are considered the 'official' unofficial version.
In other words one that most closely resembles the previous LXDE distros e.g. Linux Mint 12 LXDE and is stable.
And for a Pentium 4 Desktop Computer with 512Mb of Ram, would the LXDE be more responsive than the Xfce given the same applications etc?
Or are they that close in speed that it wouldn't make any real difference?
I actually enjoy Mint. It is easier to learn than some of the others I tried first.
Ta very much
Paul

really, the 'official' unofficial version would be anything that was D/Ld from one of the HTTP Mirrors.
& LXDE or XFCE - give about the same in performance spec's.
- it's more a personal preference type of thing.
