I am going to install mint mate at some point but really want to use i3 window manager. Is this possible? do I need to add special repos?
Would installer find my ssd drive and partitions? or would I need to set up gpt /boot for grub etc?
Wish too use i3 wm

Re: Wish too use i3 wm
You can use this with no problem - install from the official repository, last time I checked it was a surprisingly up-to-date version! Just choose 'i3' as your session at log-in and, if required, make it the default session for future log-ins. I've used i3 with Mint 13 (having first installed the XFCE version) and Mint 17 (Cinnamon) and had no problems with either.
