Check if these files are present:

- /usr/share/thumbnailers/video-thumbs.desktop
- /usr/lib/thunar/mplayer-thumbnailer
- /usr/lib/thunar/thunar-vfs-update-thumbnailers-cache-1

mplayer has to be installed for the thumbnails to work.

if all that is ok... try running this command:

gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/mintdesktop/thumbnails true

Is anyone else having this problem?
