App start up cursor.... thing

I was wondering if there is a setting or something to have the mouse cursor do the "wait a second it's starting up" spinning thing. I know it's just a stupid detail, but I wear a wrist brace and sometimes can't click accurately. Larger apps, like Gimp or Open Office can take a few seconds to open and by then I've opened a second instance assuming I missed the menu selection. TIA

BTW- I do look at the HDD light to see if it's flashing but sometimes it just doesn't.

I don't think it can be done with the default mouse cursor, but there are several hundred mouse cursor systems available here

http://gnome-look.org/index.php?xconten ... 6cdfeb9a99

and at similar sites for KDE and Xfce and others. Many of them have the function you want, Check them out, find one you like, and install it.

Thanks Technogeek. I didn't think of it as an "add on". I just figured I'd missed something obvious. I'll check out the link.

Oh- Happy Holidays. "in keeping with the situation."
