Why do you prefer Fluxbox over XFCE?

I know that this is a very open-ended question, and I know that everybody has different preferences. I am a huge XFCE fan, and my computer dual boots with Debian XFCE and LMDE with both the Gnome and XFCE DEs. I've only recently started playing with Fluxbox in a VM, and I'm just curious, for those who prefer Fluxbox, why do you prefer it? Like I said, I haven't played with it enough to form an opinion, but for those of you who have, what are your impressions vs XFCE? Thanks.

I am also a fan of Xfce.
What I like about Fluxbox it is very fast, amazingly easy to configure, also easy to make it beautiful.
It is what got me started learning to go deeper into Linux.

Ease of hardware resources plus I just do enjoy "r-click-way" of Flux. Being the huge fan of lightweight environments (Xfce is not that one long ago already) I`ve tried hard to start use LXDE, but with no success. LXDE is great, but... just not for me. Anyways for me Flux is simply brilliant.

I like it for the ease of "complete control" type configuration. I also much prefer the *box style right click menu to something locked to a panel. The fact that it's ridiculously fast is just a bonus. Fluxbox is also the reason I started digging deeper into Linux as well.

Why then you chose LXDE for Peppermints (great distro(s) with no doubts)? Wider user base? Just curiousity of mine

Interesting question. Kendall, what led you to choose LXDE as the DE for your Peppermint OS's? Do you have a favorite DE between LXDE and Fluxbox, or is it just a matter of different tools for different jobs/situations?

Because it uses plain text for menus/config files instead of xml.

No other reason needed.

LXDE offers a significantly more familiar interface to most new users than do the *box window managers. As much as I love Fluxbox, I'm very well aware of the fact that it's not for everyone and is potentially very scary to many new users. LXDE is as small and fast a desktop environment you can get without sacrificing too much familiarity and usability. Personally I much prefer Fluxbox, but I'm aware that this places me in a very small minority.

LXDE has grown on me quite a bit. After getting familiar with it's components and using it for a while it's actually quite good. It stands as a close #2 in my book behind Fluxbox (a pure Openbox session takes a slightly more distant #3).

Thx 4 answerin` man!
P.S. I`m sure it doesn`t matter @ all, but today i`ve installed Mint 9 Flux on my friend`s 10" (or 11") netbook (I`ll precise tomorrow what exactly it was - all I can remember being drunked is that that was kinda Samsung with crappy singlecore Atom and 1gig RAM). Latvian mobile 3G (LMT operator`s default net) as well as Wi-Fi worked just brilliant OUTTAZEBOX.
I`m fallin` in love with Flux deeper`n`deeper!!!
P.S. Friend is happy as kid cuz net`s working blazing fast in comparison of W7 Starter. He`s still keep saying: "impossible".
P.P.S. Well, we`ll gonna get drunk till we fall down @ ground. Cheers!!!

For me personally, it is the only version of any linux distro that worked out of the box. Video, webcam, mic and most importantly, WiFi.. Even other versions of mint including gnome and KDE and XFCE gave my usb wireless fits on 2 of my machines they are on. Mint 9 Fluxbox has been rock freaking solid. They will have to pry this distro out of my cold dead hands.
