auto-updating openbox menu lxde mint11

hi, been tryin to add a pipemenu to the lxde menu with obmenu followed sites for arch, debian and crunch but the mint versions of the rc.xmls etc are li confusing, tried pipemenu to etc "/xdg/mint-lxde/menus/lxde-applications.menu" an i think every other ".menu" but no joy i just get lil empty box when i select it on the openbox menu.
any help greatly appreciated

LXDE uses "xdg menu" to generate the menus. Openbox not. So you need a "translator".

The wiki of Openbox list some under XDG Application Menus.

The one that fits your needs most is probably "Openbox-menu".
